Leonard Green & Partners Acquires Majority Stake in Pace from Aurora Capital
Leonard Green & Partners (LGP) acquired a majority stake in Pace Analytical Services, LLC (Pace) in mid-January 2022. Aurora Capital Partners, theformer majority owner of Pace, reinvested with LGP as part of the deal. Steve Vanderboom, Pace’s founder, announced his retirement after having successfully transitioned the company to the next corporate chapter. Mr. Vanderboom founded Pace in 1978 and built a national laboratory and services network of over 65 laboratories providing testing services in environmental and life sciences. Congratulations to Steve and the whole Pace Team!
York Analytical acquires Aqua Environmental
York Analytical Laboratories, Inc. (York; Nyack, New York) announced the acquisition of Aqua Environmental (Newton, Connecticut) in early January 2022. York President and CEO, Michael J. Beckerich, indicated that the addition of Aqua Environmental will enhance York’s drinking water analytical services to homeowners and drinking water permit holders in Connecticut, Hudson Valley, New York City, and Long Island. Beckerich further indicated that as detection of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS; forever chemicals) in drinking water supplies rapidly escalates, Aqua Environmental will assist people in being proactive to find out what’s in their drinking water supply.
