3-2 – Data Management – Project Design and Implementation

Design & Implementation

Design & Implementation
An expertly designed and implemented data management system is integral to the long-term success of any environmental project. And considering the evolving regulatory and enforcement guidelines, organizations are devoting more and more resources to establishing policies, infrastructure, and processes aimed at reducing liability.

Environmental Standards is here to help. With a data management team that collectively has over 60 years of experience, Environmental Standards is uniquely qualified as a third-party consultant to provide professional, thorough, and unbiased data management solutions. Blending foundational theory and best practices, we will design and implement a data management system for your environmental project that will:

  • Maintain data integrity, control, consistency, traceability, and reproducibility throughout the life of the project while notating any data usability issues  and supporting the defensibility of your data.
  • Establish the framework for the consistent, complete documentation of the quality and validity of field and analytical data compiled during investigations, including metadata. Having a centralized data management system allows users to access, query, and report data efficiently, supporting cross-disciplinary collaboration and allowing you to make informed decisions for your project.
  • Allow the flexibility to integrate and comprehensively manage new data streams with existing data in the specified data management system for both structured and unstructured data.
  • Empower stakeholders and teams across your organization with real-time data and insights whether graphically or in a variety of electronic or hardcopy formatted deliverables to specifically meet your needs.
  • Provide a centralized data management system that can accommodate growing datasets, new data types, and evolving project goals without fragmenting information across systems.
  • Consolidate data, which will enable integrated analytics, trend detection, and reproducible reporting that supports regulatory submissions, scientific validation, and stakeholder communication.

Environmental data, both structured and unstructured, will be collected by various consultants on behalf of your organization under a variety of sampling/monitoring programs. These data will then be matched to laboratory analytical data. The system we implement will provide a basis for supporting a technical data management business cycle from the pre-planning of sampling events to the reporting of technical data for use by scientists and managers. The data management system will verify data completeness and usability while also taking into account the defensibility of those data. The system will be designed and configured around the active storage, management, and usage of your data and business practices.

The system we design will provide a clear picture of the current state of your environmental site(s) as well as the progress that has been made over the course of the project. Access to this information will enable your organization to make informed decisions for your program going forward.
